On June 8, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan met with Terrence Pierre, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Dave Revanales, Head of the Diplomatic Security Unit. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening practical cooperation in the field of security.

Ambassador Ren noted that the recent establishment of the Diplomatic Security Unit within the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service(TTPS) would provide stronger protection for the safety and security of diplomatic missions in Trinidad and Tobago. He stated that the Chinese Embassy would continue to support the work of TTPS and stands ready to expand practical cooperation in the security sector. The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing the protection of Chinese citizens and enterprises in Trinidad and Tobago.

Assistant Commissioner Pierre stated that TTPS has always attached great importance to the security of diplomatic missions, as well as Chinese citizens and institutions in the country. He expressed the willingness to further strengthen security cooperation with the Chinese side.
