On February 12, Ambassador Ren Hongyan visited Shanghai Construction (Caribbean) Company, where he held discussions with General Manager Zhang Qing and his team, and extended Lunar New Year greetings to all employees. Counselor Zhang Zhihong of the Embassy was also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Ren first toured the Shanghai Construction camp, inquiring in detail about the living conditions of the staff and listening the company's operational report. Ambassador Ren stated that Shanghai Construction has been deeply involved in Trinidad and Tobago for over twenty years, having built numerous landmark structures in the engineering sector, thereby making significant contributions to the practical cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago. He expressed hope that the company would continue to adhere to compliant operations, prioritize safety in production, and strive for even greater achievements in the new year. The Embassy, he assured, would steadfastly uphold the principle of "diplomacy for the people" and provide continued service and support.

Zhang Qing expressed gratitude to the Embassy for their care and concern for the company as the Spring Festival approaches, noting that despite being far from their homeland, they still feel the warmth of home. He pledged to live up to the mission and expectations, and under the guidance of the Embassy, contribute further to deepening the practical cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago.
