On October 10, Ambassador Ren Hongyan met with Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, Campus Principal of the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus. The two sides exchanged views on promoting friendly exchanges between universities of the two countries, strengthening academic and scientific research cooperation, and advancing Chinese language and culture teaching and promotion in Trinidad and Tobago. Counsellor Zhang Zhihong, from the Embassy, and Professor Patrick Hosein, from the department of electrical and computer engineering of the university were present.
