Ambassador Huang Xingyuan Gives A Lecture At UWI

On Sept 9, 2013, H.E. Mr. Huang Xingyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, gave a lecture at the University of West Indies (UWI). Titled "China Dream and the Evolving Economic and Cultural Relationships between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago", his lecture was warmly welcomed and highly spoken of by the audience.

   
Ambassador Huang focused on three main points: China's development and China dream, China's foreign policy and the future relationship between China and Trinidad and Tobago. He not only explained about the theories, but also set vivid examples which helped the audience to know more about China dream, become more confident for the future cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, commerce, culture, education, etc...

After the lecture, many attendees took full advantages of the Q&A opportunity to raise various questions, including the prospect of China's economy, the trend of China's foreign policy, the construction progress of the Confucius institute in Trinidad and Tobago, channels of study in China, China's stance on Syria issue and so on. Ambassador Huang calmly and clearly answered those questions one by one, his wonderful answers won rounds of big applauses.

Before his speech, Ambassador Huang met in the Center for Language Learning with the visiting delegation of the University of China Agriculture. He was given a brief introduction by Mr. Wang Tao, Vice President of the University of China Agriculture about the preparation work for the establishment of the Confucius institute. Then, Ambassador Huang went into a classroom, conveyed his greetings to those students who were learning Chinese, and encouraged them to learn well Chinese and make more contributions to the friendly cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago.
