On February 26, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan met with the Honourable Phillip Edward Alexander ,Minister in the Ministry of Housing, and exchanged views on practical cooperation between two countries. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Zhang Zhihong, Counsellor of the Embassy.

Ambassador Ren briefed on China's experience and achievements in housing fields, noting that China has always adhered to a people-centered development philosophy and continuously promoted high-quality development in housing. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Trinidad and Tobago in this area to benefit the people of both countries and contribute to consolidating the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Trinidad and Tobago.

Alexander stated that housing is related to people's well-being and are key areas of focus and priority development for the Trinidad and Tobago government. He expressed his hope to deepen cooperation with China in housing projects, learn from China's advanced technologies and development experience, and jointly benefit the people of both countries.
