From October 11 to 12, the 18th annual Chinese Bicentennial Dragon Boat Festival and the 4th China-Trinidad and Tobago Friendship Cup Dragon Boat Race were successfully held at Williams Bay, Chaguaramas. Ambassador Ren Hongyan and Minister of Education Dr. Michael Dowlath attended the award ceremony and delivered remarks. 
Ambassador Ren warmly congratulated the winning teams and noted that over the past two centuries, Chinese immigrants have made significant contributions to the economic and social development of Trinidad and Tobago, serving as an important bridge of friendship between the two countries. He emphasized that the Dragon Boat Festival has become a major annual sports and cultural event in Trinidad and Tobago, playing a meaningful role in promoting youth development, multicultural integration, and people-to-people exchanges between China and Trinidad and Tobago. The Ambassador reaffirmed that China is ready to work hand in hand with Trinidad and Tobago to deepen exchanges and cooperation and to create an even brighter future together. Minister Dowlath highly commended the dragon boat races, encouraging more students to take part in the sport. He affirmed that the Trinidad and Tobago Government is committed to further expanding and deepening cooperation with China to bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries. 
Nearly 30 dragon boat teams from across Trinidad and Tobago competed vigorously in the races, drawing more than one thousand spectators.
