On October 9th, H.E. Ambassador Ren Hongyan visited Phoenix Park Industrial Estate (PPIE), a flagship joint project between China and Trinidad and Tobago under the Belt and Road Initiative, and held a meeting with Wang Tao, the manager of Beijing Construction Engineering Group Trinidad and Tobago Company Limited, on the establishment, operation management, and future development of PPIE. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Zhang Zhihong, Counsellor of the Embassy, and Mr. Zheng Shengjie, the chief engineer of the company. 

    Ambassador Ren stated that PPIE is a flagship project between China and Trinidad and Tobago under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as an significant outcome of the practical cooperation between two countries. It is hoped that the company can base themselves on the background of Trinidad and Tobago's economic diversification transformation and focus on the subsequent development and construction of PPIE, to make it a leading pilot project in the Caribbean region.

    Wang Tao thanked the embassy for the support and guidance on the construction and development of PPIE. He stated that the company would actively follow up on the construction process of enterprises in PPIE, continue to deeply explore development opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago, and create more high-quality projects, making greater contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
