Charge d’Affaires Yang Han Attended the Commemoration Ceremony for the Practical Completion of the Construction of the New Terminal at the ANR Robinson International Airport

On March 15, Counsellor Yang Han, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago, attended the commemoration ceremony for the practical completion of the construction of the new terminal at the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago, contracted by China Railway Construction Caribbean Company Limited (CRCCCL). Nearly 1000 attendees, including Prime Minister Keith Rowley, Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan, Chief Secretary of THA Farley Augustine, as well as several government ministers, members of Parliament, representatives from CRCCCL and various fields, participated in the event.

Delivering the feature address, Prime Minister Rowley praised the new terminal equipped with advanced facilities as a milestone achievement that will empower Tobago’s quest to become an international tourist destination and its endeavor to promote the economic development of the island and the country. In the interview with Xinhua News Agency, he said Trinidad and Tobago is one of the first Caribbean countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative, understanding its significance, and benefits from working with China as well as other international partners. Trinidad and Tobago is very pleased for the ongoing cooperation with China and looks forward to more opportunities in the future.

Charge d'Affaires Yang expressed sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Rowley for his consistent support for promoting the development of bilateral relationship, and reiterated China’s strong commitment to working with Trinidad and Tobago to continuously promote high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, making more practical cooperation achievements that lead to win-win results and benefit both nations.
