On September 27th, Ambassador Fang Qiu paid a farewell visit to Senator Nigel de Freitas, President of the Senate, and Bridgid Annisette-George, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Ambassador Fang expressed his gratitude to the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago for its longstanding support to China-Trinidad and Tobago relations and to himself during his tenure. He noted that, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Trinidad and Tobago relations have witnessed rapid growth over the past four years. The exchange and cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies have grown increasingly close, injecting strong momentum into the deepening of the traditional friendship and the advancement of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. China is willing to take the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations as a new starting point to elevate its comprehensive partnership with Trinidad and Tobago to new heights, bringing greater benefits to the people of both nations.
Senator de Freitas and Speaker Annisette-George highly commended Ambassador Fang’s contributions to the deepening of bilateral relations, and emphasized that the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to fostering relations with China and looks forward to further strengthening exchanges between the two countries' legislative bodies.
