On September 19, Ambassador Fang Qiu attendedthe reception commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of Chinahosted by the Embassy of China in Trinidad and Tobago. The event attracted over 300 attendees, including the Honourable Bridgid Annisette-George, Speaker of the House, and Senator the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, along with other Cabinet Ministers, parliamentarians, members of the diplomatic community, individuals from various sectors, and local Chinese community members.

During the event, Ambassador Fang highlighted the significant achievements China has made since its establishment 75 years ago, emphasizing the nation's commitment to providing more development opportunities to other countries through Chinese modernizationand fostering a community with a shared future for mankind. He pointed out that this year also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Trinidad and Tobago, a partnership that has grown stronger over the years and holds promising prospects for the future. He noted that China is eager to align development strategies with Trinidad and Tobago, enhance friendly exchanges, and collaborate across multiple sectors to build a brighter future for bilateral relations.

Minister Browne expressed his admiration for China's impressive development milestones, acknowledged the contributions of the Chinese community in Trinidad and Tobago, and commended the advancement of bilateral relations. He emphasized that Trinidad and Tobago values its friendship with China and is committed to working together to elevate their relationship to new heights.
