On Wednesday, September 4th, His Excellency Fang Qiu, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Trinidad and Tobago, proudly presented a batch of digital teaching devices to San Juan North Secondary School and unveiled the "China-Trinidad and Tobago Friendship Classroom", symbolizing the Chinese government's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting the digital evolution of education in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ambassador Fang expressed sincere appreciation to the Minister of Education, Dr. Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly, for her support to this initiative, and emphasized that education is a fundamental pillar for national development and progress. He referenced the significant focus on comprehensive reform of education, science, technology, and talent cultivation highlighted during the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, underscoring the vital role education plays in advancing China's modernization agenda. Furthermore, Ambassador Fang reaffirmed China's dedication to fostering high-standard international cooperation, which he believes will unlock new opportunities for Trinidad and Tobago across various sectors, particularly in education. The donation ceremony was attended by acting principal Dabrielle Nurse, along with staff and students from San Juan North Secondary School, who conveyed their appreciation for this significant contribution.
