On August 23, Ambassador Fang Qiu hosted a reception for delegates to the Seminar on Public Policy Management for Government Officials from Trinidad and Tobago, which was held in China from July to August, 2024. The event was attended by more than 20 participants, including Senator the Honourable Allyson West, Minister of Public Administration, Mr. Claudelle McKeller, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, and Dr. Daryl Dindial, Chief Personnel Officer.
Ambassador Fang congratulated the delegates on their successful trip to China, and briefed the guests on the outcomes of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC. He emphasized that the session clarified the overarching goal of further comprehensively deepening reforms, signaled an expansion of high-level openness to the international community, and united the people of all ethnic groups across China in advancing China's modernization. Moreover, Ambassador Fang reiterated China's willingness to take the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Trinidad and Tobago as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, share the dividends of China's development, and promote an even closer China-Trinidad and Tobago community with a shared future.
Minister West and other participants appreciated China’s cordial invitation to the above-mentioned seminar. Acknowledging that China's modernization has provided important inspiration to developing countries, they expressed willingness to work for greater progress of the bilateral relations that will benefit both peoples.
